The ranking of the songs were determined by the highest position the song reached on the chart. Ties were broken by number of weeks at the peak position. If there were still ties, the number of weeks the song was in the top 10. If there were still ties, the number of weeks the song stayed in the top 40. And if there were still any ties, the songs total charted weeks was used.
