Overall Comparisons of the Two Grills
- Drip Tray Cleaning: When it comes to cleaning the grills drip tray after cooking the advantage goes to the George Foreman Grill hands down. It only has 1 drip tray to clean where the Shaq Grill has 2. The second one is tricky as you have to lift it out to clean it. As you lift if out it’s easy to spill some grease on the bottom of the grill to make a bigger cleanup mess. Plus, you have to wait until the grill is cooled down before you can lift out the tray or even try to clean it with paper towels. The grease could get hard and not be as easy to clean. Advantage: George Foreman
- Cleaning Grill Plates: No advantage here to either grill. They both have removable plates that are dishwasher safe to clean. Advantage: Tie
- Preheating Grills: The advantage goes to the George Foreman Grill. Plug it in and set the temperature. A beep sound goes off when the grill is preheated. The Shaq Grill you must plug it in and set the timer. If the timer reaches zero before it’s preheated, it shuts off the grill. No sound to warn you when the grill is preheated. When it is preheated, you may have to reset the timer for the proper time to cook the food as the timer continues to count down. Advantage: George Foreman
- Grilling Bone in Meats: The George Foreman Grill wins with ease. It will allow you to grill with the bones in. The Shaq grill requires you to partially cook these foods before grilling. The reason is it may not cook these foods properly as they could get overbrowned on the outside before the center is done. Advantage: George Foreman
- Fan: The Shaq Grill wins this one. It has a fan button to turn on to remove the excess smoke during cooking. George Foreman does not have a fan and will allow the steam or smoke to come out during cooking. Advantage: Shaq
- Turn Off Top Grill Plate: The Shaq Grill wins this one. It has a button that turns off the top grill plate. The George Foreman does not this feature as both plates are used for grilling food. Advantage: Shaq
- Cook Waffles: The George Foreman Grill wins this hands down. The grill comes with 2 waffle plates to make waffles by just removing the regular grill plates and attaching the waffle plates. The Shaq Grill does not have this option. If you want to have waffles, you need to purchase a waffle iron separately. Advantage: George Foreman
- Warranty: The George Foreman Grill wins this one easily. The Shaq grill offers 1-year warranty and the George Foreman Grill offers a 3-year warranty, both from the date of purchase. Advantage: George Foreman
Based on the above comparisons, the George Foreman Grill wins.
Conclusion
The bottom line here is which grill is best. They both are good grills. Depending upon the features you want the Shaq Grill may be best. As to cost, the George Foreman Grill is the winner.
They both have lots of features that are the same. They do have some differences. You will have to decide on which of the feature differences you want in your grill.
To me, the George Foreman Evolve Grill wins based on the waffle plates that come with the purchase, preheated beeping sound, and 1 drip tray to clean.
